RBC | Since 2017, the RBC Pioneers Association has recognized a community member who embodies the characteristics of courage, dedication to service and devotion to community demonstrated by the men and women who settled in the White River Valley in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Previous honorees have included Johnny Barton, Leota Cook, Marge Rogers, Ed Coryell and Ethel Starbuck. Bryce Purkey and Connie Theos were honored posthumously.
Nominations for this year’s award are open until May 15 and can be submitted online at www.rbcpioneers.org or printed and mailed to Box 1113, Meeker, CO 81641. Nominations will be judged by an award committee on a case-by-case basis. The Spirit of the Pioneers award will be presented during the annual dinner and dance on June 3 at the Fairfield Center.
Reservations are required by May 15 to attend the dinner/dance, which will feature live music by the Dave Main & Friends band.
