Adrian ‘Sam’ Clinton Corbett
May 17, 1950 ~ Sept. 19, 2021
Adrian “Sam” Clinton Corbett, 71, passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, in his home in Fillmore, Utah. Sam was born May 17, 1950 in Bowie, Colorado, to Adrian and Rachel Corbett. He met and married Glenna Ruth Kendall, the love of his life (for 51 years) in 1970 in Delta, Colorado. They have one daughter Tonya Lynn (Mike) Lowder of Tooele, Utah.
Sam loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, or just a good ole Jeep ride with his sweetheart. He also shared his love of rock hounding with his granddaughter and name-sake Samantha (Miss-Mantha as he always called her). He was a constant jokester, always trying to make people laugh. If you ever had the privilege of hearing one of his stories, I can guarantee that you walked away with a smile. He was a tinkerer, whether it was mechanical, or building something. Sam worked as a rancher, but spent the majority of his life working in the coal mines.
He absolutely adored his granddaughters, Samantha (Josh) Proctor of Hurricane, Utah, and Shaley Tracy of Burley, Idaho; also two grandsons: Justin Lowder of Lakepoint, Utah, and Jason Lowder of Riverton, Wyoming. He loved being a grandpa, but his pure joy was with his great-grands: Brooklyn, Liam and Makenzie.
Sam is survived by his wife Glenna; daughter Tonya; grandchildren Samantha, Shaley, Justin and Jason; great-grands Brooklyn, Liam and Makenzie; three sisters: Lucille Prettyman, Juanita (Bill) Edwards, Dora (Bobby) Dunton; 15 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents Adrian and Rachel Corbett; sisters LaVonne Flashe and Eileen Griffoth.
Sam was a truly amazing soul and he will be greatly missed by many.
A viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, from 4-6 p.m. at the Olpin Stevens Funeral Home Fillmore, Utah. Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Cedar Hills Cemetery in Paonia, Colorado. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
Glenna Ruth Corbett
Feb. 3, 1953 ~ Sept. 24, 2021
Glenna Ruth Corbett, 68, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2021. Glenna was born in Delta, Colorado, to Darrell and Delores Kendall. She met and later married Adrian “Sam” Corbett, the love of her life in 1970 in Delta, Colorado. They have one daughter Tonya Lynn (Mike) Lowder of Tooele, Utah.
Throughout her life Glenna had many jobs, the ones she loved the most was being a wife, mother, later down the road a grandmother, and the best of all a great-grandmother. She loved the outdoors, having a garden and beautiful flowers (when she could keep the deer from eating them), and she loved just sitting on the backyard swing with her sweetheart. Glenna shared her love for cooking with her daughter Tonya. They would make sugar cookies at Christmas and they would be gone the next day.
Glenna loved her two granddaughters dearly, Samantha (Josh) Proctor of Hurricane, Utah, and Shaley Tracy of Burley, Idaho. She loved to brag about them and show everyone the latest pictures she had in her wallet. She also had two grandsons, Justin Lowder of Lakepoint, Utah, and Jason Lowder of Riverton, Wyoming. As much as Glenna loved her grandchildren, it was her great-grands that melted her heart, Brooklyn, Liam and Makenzie.
Glenna is survived by her mother Delores, daughter Tonya, grandchildren Samantha, Shaley, Justin and Jason, great-grands Brooklyn, Liam and Makenzie, four brothers Gene (Liz) Kendall, Ronnie (Robin) Kendall, Larry Kendall, Lanny (Jill) Kendall, and one sister Sylvia (Paul) Morton, 15 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Adrian “Sam” Clinton Corbett; father Darrell Kendall.
Glenna had a heart of gold and a smile for everyone she met, and she will be truly missed.
