Alice Rose Frost passed away at the Walbridge Wing in Meeker, Colo., on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.
Alice was born Aug. 17, 1926, to Claude and Dorothy Boyd in Meeker, Colo. She attended the Meeker schools and lived in and loved Meeker all of her life. After graduating from high school she worked as a telephone operator until the time of her marriage to Jack A. Frost on Nov. 19, 1946. She was a homemaker, avid reader and an excellent cook. She and Jack enjoyed their little dogs, camping, traveling to the west coast and attending all of their grandchildrens’ activities. She loved the visits and stories of her great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Meeker Com-munity Church.
She is survived by her daughter Jen Whiteman and husband Chuck; granddaughter Laurie Simonsen and husband Arne of Basalt, Colo.; Jeff Whiteman and wife Deanna of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and Casey Whiteman and wife Luci of Scottsdale, Ariz. Four great-grandchildren: Hailey, Nat-alie, Zachery and Jocob Simonsen of Basalt, Colo. She is also survived by her sister Eva Mitchell of Grand Junction, and her brother Donald Boyd and nephew Stephan Boyd of Apache Junction, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 53 years.
Funeral services were held at the Cochran Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Interment wasin the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walbridge Wing in care of the Cochran Memorial Chapel.
