Obituary – Alyson Daun Johnson (Pilcher)

May 12, 1976 ~ Aug. 5, 2024

Alyson Daun Johnson (Pilcher) was born on May 12, 1976, in Vernal, Utah, to William and Jeris Pilcher. She graduated from Rangely High School in 1994 and went on to attend the dental program at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely.

Alyson began her career as a dental hygienist in Boise, Idaho. In June of 1999, at Sunlight Mountain Resort, she stole Chad Johnson’s heart when he opened the door of the hotel room, and laid eyes on her for the first time. They were both to stand up at Mike and Tiffany Ottosen’s wedding. Alyson moved to Rifle soon after, and Chad and Alyson married on Oct. 5, 2002.  Together, Alyson and Chad welcomed their only son, Kellen, in 2006. This fall, Kellen will be starting his college journey at Colorado State University.

Alyson had a passion for life and healthy living and often you would find her wrapped in a warm blanket reading a book.  She enjoyed exercising, skiing, running/jogging, traveling, and cheering for Notre Dame football. Alyson was a volunteer coach for the school track team and a coach for the local CrossFit program in the Rifle area. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife, always prioritizing her family’s well-being—spent 1000s of hours at golf, wrestling, and track events. Plus, hours upon hours at 4-H events watching air pistol and shotgun events with Kellen and Chad. Her warm spirit and ability to connect with people earned her many friends throughout her life.

Alyson is survived by her husband, Chad; her son, Kellen; her parents William and Jeris Pilcher (Ft. Collins); her brother and sister-in-law Matthew and Clara Pilcher (Ft. Collins); sister-in-law Robyn Johnson (Bedford, Texas); and her two children Jared (Angelica)—(Austin, Texas) and Sydney (Cory)—(Saginaw, Texas); also survived my many aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews. Her kindness, love, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
