Soldotna, Alaska, resident Carma Faye (Sue) Rouse passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna with family present. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Sue was born in Casper, Wyo., on April 26, 1951, to Bonnie and Bill Burgett. She spent her childhood in Rangely, Colo., where she was graduated from high school in 1969. Sue received her associate’s degree in business from Colorado Northwestern Community College a few years later.
Sue was a dedicated woman who lived life to the fullest. When her kids were growing up, Sue was a swim team mom and 4-H leader. Her clothing club was crowned grand champion at the Colorado State Fair. She also helped start a trucking company that is still in business today.
Sue moved to Alaska with her husband, Chuck, in 1999. She worked for Fred Meyer, D&L Construction and Genacta Home Care, where she was office manager until 2012.
Sue was preceded in death by: her mother Bonnie; a brother, Buck; a sister in-law, Georganne; and her oldest son Ryan.
She is survived by: her father, Bill Burgett; daughter in-law Clarissa Tooker of Grand Junction; her husband, Chuck; daughter Dee of Soldotna; son Brad and wife Alyssa of Rangely; sister Becky (Jim) Halvorsen of Price, Utah; and grandchildren D.J., Jacy, Ketsen, Emma, Presley and Ariel.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
