Chad Howard Denny, 66, of Roosevelt, Utah, passed away Sept. 10, 2024, at his home after a two-year battle with cancer.
Chad was born Oct. 9, 1957, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Howard Thompson and Lillian Laureen Clauson Denny.
Chad served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He married Roxie Lee Boger on Nov. 20, 2000.
Chad had a wonderful sense of humor and found great joy in teasing others. He loved the Lord of the Rings, Shrek, anything with dragons, camping, snow shoeing, traveling, his dogs and was known as a great mountain man.
He worked as a truck driver in his younger years and then found his greatest joy in landscaping. His talent with gardening flowers and beautification was renowned and he even had the opportunity to work for famous people through the years.
He loved the desert being in the outdoors and even traveled by handcart from California to Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Roxie Lee Denny, his daughter, Maleena Raquel Stevens, his son-in-law, Trey Stevens and his most precious joy, his grandson Mason Stevens.
Chad wanted everyone to be comfortable and not to wear anything black to his funeral.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Hullinger Mortuary in Roosevelt, Utah. Per his wishes, he was cremated.
A memorial account for donations, in lieu of flowers, has been set up to help the family with final expenses. They can be deposited at Mountain America Credit Union under the name Roxie Lee Denny.
