Chuck Cady
Dec. 11, 1925 ~ April 28, 2008
Chuck Cady, 82, of Meeker died April 28, 2008, at the Walbridge Memorial Wing.
Chuck was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Denver, the son of Charles A. and Grace Arvella (Fuller) Cady. As a young boy the family moved to California where Chuck attended school and following his graduation from high school entered the United States Army, serving his country during World War II as an aerial photograph developer.
Following his discharge, Chuck began working as an electrician in the motion picture industry in Burbank, Calif., where he worked on the sets of such classic movies as “The Sound of Music”, “West Side Story” “Blue Hawaii” and “Damn Yankees.” Following his retirement, he moved to Meeker where he quickly became known around town as “The Flower Man,” creating masterful floral arrangements which he sold and often gave away, always wanting to make people smile and laugh.
Chuck will be remembered for his bright blue Ford Thunderbird, his warm smile and quick wave, his passion for flowers and the joy they brought to others.
Survivors include two sisters, June Tilton and her husband Joe of Nipomo, Calif., and Phillis Walters and her husband Bob of Grass Valley, Calif., and his close friend Paul Des Jardins.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Highland Cemetery. In lieu of memorial contributions, folks are asked to plant a flower to brighten someone’s day.
