Cindy Lee Belmont passed away peacefully on the morning of July 4, 2024, at HopeWest, in Grand Junction, Colorado, surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was born in Binghamton, New York, on March 3, 1952. She and her husband Marty moved to Colorado in 1978. They were in Berthoud for a short time before moving to Stagecoach. Sixteen years later they moved to Grand Junction, but eventually settled in Rangely for the last 25 years.
She will be remembered by many as the “neighborhood mom,” as children from all walks of life were always welcomed into her home. Love was abundant there, as she enjoyed feeding people good food and spiritually feeding the word of God, to anyone willing to listen. Her tenderness and willingness to serve others will be missed by many.
Cindy is preceded in death by her son, Johnny Michael, her mother Lula Mae Hawley, and her father Glenn C. Hawley.
She is survived by her husband Martin J. Belmont; her son Danny and his wife Colleen; daughter Jenny and husband Shane Aplanalp; her brother Jimmy Hawley; her sisters Carolyn Duncan, Darlene Duncan, Denise Hawley, Thelma Lorraine and husband Mike Bissell; nieces Stephanie, Christine, Shannon, Naomi, Jessica, Angela and Jamie; nephews David, Glenn, Mike, Dave, Scott and Derek; her (closest to her heart) grandchildren Micah, Ellianna, Sophia, Leland, Uriah, Malachi, Maya, Lizey, Brooke, Peyton, Shelby, Bailey, Madison, Collin, Grace, Jake and one great-grandchild, Eleanor.
There will be a celebration of life service at Rangely Christian Church, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at noon.
