Nov. 23, 1933 ~ May 29, 2024
Clyde J. Slaugh passed away May 29, 2024, at the age of 90 in the hills of Rangely, Colorado doing what he loved. He was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Jensen, Utah to Fredrick Slaugh and Martha Greenhow.
Clyde was raised with five brothers and one sister. He was a wild child that extended into his adult life. There are many, many stories to tell mostly about his wild horse-chasing days. He worked with his brother in the oilfield for many years. Then went to work in the Gilsonite mine in Bonanza, Utah until he returned to the oilfield in 1960 working for Chevron where he put in 32 years of hard work and dedication.
Clyde had two previous marriages resulting in two dedicated sons, Dennis J. Slaugh and Isaec Slaugh. In 1982 he married the love of his life Diane Hadley resulting in Daddy’s little girl Brandy Diane.
Clyde is survived by his devoted wife Diane Slaugh of Rangely; son Dennis J. Slaugh (Margaret) of Rangely; Brandy Odom (James) of Rangely; the joys of his life grandsons Cody J. Slaugh (Sara) of Grand Junction; Bransen Shelton of Rangely; Cole Odom of Rangely; Justin Slaugh brother Jim Slaugh of Vernal.
He is preceded in death by both parents; son Isaec Slaugh; brothers Perry Slaugh, LaDell Slaugh, Dee Slaugh and Lee Slaugh; sister Faye Kendall. Clyde will be most remembered by all his stories, pranks and how much he loved his family.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Rangely Cemetery with a celebration following at Rangely Fire training facility across the street from the cemetery. Services are under the direction of Blackburn Rangely Mortuary.
