Oct. 21, 1953 ~ April 2, 2026
Debbie Ashliman Schram, 72, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and selflessness that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Debbie was born on Oct. 21, 1953, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, to Orval “Red” and Doris Ashliman. She was one of three siblings, growing up alongside her sister Donna and brother Randy. Debbie spent her childhood in Craig, Colorado, where she graduated from high school and began forming the strong values and work ethic that would define her life.
She continued her education at Mesa College, earning a degree in mathematics, and later obtained her teaching credentials from Colorado State University. Debbie had a passion for education and went on to dedicate many years to teaching, inspiring countless students with her patience, intelligence, and care.
Debbie married Steve Schram, and together they raised four sons—Chris, Tim, Greg, and Spencer—who were the center of her world. The family lived in Rock Springs, Wyoming, for roughly 10 years before settling in Meeker, Colorado. It was there that Debbie taught Algebra and devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her boys, supporting them in every aspect of their lives.
Raising four ornery boys also gave Debbie a well-earned sense of humor. Her sons loved teasing her and cracking jokes just to get her to shake her head, roll her eyes, or laugh along with them—moments that became some of the family’s most cherished memories.
Beyond her career and family, Debbie was a woman of many talents. She created beautiful professional porcelain dolls and was known for her masterful toll painting pieces, sharing her creativity and artistry with those around her.
After her sons left for college, Debbie moved to Colorado Springs to be near her beloved sister and best friend, Donna. In retirement, she cherished simple joys—playing cards with friends, spending time with family, and continuing to give of herself in quiet, meaningful ways.
Debbie will always be remembered for her selfless nature and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a generous heart and would do anything for those she loved.
She is survived by her sons Chris, Tim, and Greg; her sister Donna; her daughters-in-law Arryn and Tania; her cherished grandchildren Koda, Asher, Gavin, Sofie, Layla, Bowie, Hayden, and Tristan, and her dog Shiloh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Red and Doris Ashliman; her brother Randy; and her beloved son, Spencer.
Debbie’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched, especially within her family, who were her greatest pride and joy.
