Dixie Lee Jones

Dixie Lee Jones passed away peacefully in her home on April 18, 2023, after a brief illness. She was 85 years old.
She was born on June 28, 1937, in western Colorado to Sidney and Eileen Lyke.
She graduated from Meeker High School, and was a graduate from business college in Denver. She worked for Rio Blanco County and the Town of Meeker. She retired from Public Service Company after 20 years. She was on the Board of Directors at Pioneers Hospital and was the treasurer for the Meeker Classic for 15-plus years.
Dixie was the proud mother of two sons: Patrick Mares and Mike Mares, and had two granddaughters.
She loved to travel to all places in the world. Her hobbies were crochet, quilting, knitting, painting and house projects. She belonged to several craft groups and looked forward to the special time with friends each week.
There will be a celebration of life on June 28, 2023, at Circle Park in Meeker, Colorado. Come share your stories and happy memories. There will be a barbecue and refreshments from Noon until the stories and food run out.
There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for your sympathy and kindness in our time of sorry. The support and comfort you provided will always be remembered.
