Obituary – Dixie (Lundberg) Jones

July 19, 1941 ~ Jan. 15, 2026

Dixie Lundberg was born in Meeker, Colorado, on July 19, 1941, to Shirley Janes Lundberg and Dick Lundberg. Her mother tragically died in a car accident when Dixie was 4-years-old and she was raised by her grandparents, Raymond and Fannie Janes of Meeker. Dixie succumbed to COPD on Jan. 15, 2026, in the comfort of her own home with her husband, Rick Miller, by her side.

Dixie attended Meeker High School from 1956 to 1959. She married her high school sweetheart, Tony George, in 1958. They relocated to Roseville, California, in 1964. Together they had two daughters, Toni Arnold of Gold River, California, and Debbie Jones of Auburn, California.

While living in Roseville, Dixie continued her education and obtained her AA degree from Sierra Junior College. Then she obtained her bachelors in physical education from California State University, Sacramento in 1978. Dixie later decided to pursue cosmetology and she obtained a job at the JC Penney’s salon in Citrus Heights. After six years, she transferred to the Memphis store. Eventually, she became an instructor at the cosmetology school in Memphis. When her husband was laid off from his job, the couple relocated to Jacksonville, Oregon. Dixie and Tony divorced in 1991.

Dixie married Riley “Rick” Miller on Feb. 26, 1992. She again decided to continue her education and attended nurse assistant school. Because her husband was a veteran, she was able to work at the VA Hospital in Mather, California. She eventually retired as a nurse’s assistant in 2005.

In her retirement, she enjoyed home projects and painting. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Dixie is survived by her two daughters, Toni Arnold and her husband Mike Arnold, Debbie Jones and her husband Don Jones, and her grandchildren, Kylie Jones and Robby Jones.

Dixie’s remains will be laid to rest with her husband, Rick Miller, in the VA cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Lung Association.
