Eldrid “Sis” E. Anding, 75, of Albion, NE, was reunited with her husband Don and son Scott after passing away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022 at Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church (South Branch) rural Albion, Nebraska, with Rev. Elizabeth Goehring officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4:30-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, Nebraska.
Sis was born on Dec. 15, 1946, at Rangely, Colorado, to Antone B. and Mary J. (Findley) Eliasen. She attended school in Meeker, Colorado, and graduated from Meeker High School in 1965. She then moved to California to work and met her future husband at China Lake, California.
Sis and Donald Lester Anding were married on Oct. 17, 1965, at Meeker, Colorado. Following their wedding, the couple lived at China Lake until Don’s honorable discharge on May 5, 1967. The couple then made their home on a farm northeast of Albion where she lived until moving into Albion shortly after Don’s passing in 2019.
Sis worked in various places over the years including Bob’s Bar, The Junction, and operated Ellie’s Country Kitchen where she sold countless doughnuts. She was always welcoming and loved to visit with her customers. Sis was also known for her ability to alter and fix peoples clothing and the annual Colorado peach sales. Annual trips to Meeker, Colorado, for the Fourth of July were always enjoyed by her and her family. Sis loved life and especially loved her family and grandchildren. Her advice to others would be: “Be truthful and work hard.” Sis was a member of the Immanuel-Zion (South Branch) Lutheran Church and also was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Sis is survived by her three children: Becky Aldaba, Chad (Gina) Anding, and Jill (Scott Whaley) Anding all of Albion, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Amanda Aldaba, Clay, Skyler, Wyatt, and Briggs Anding; eight siblings: Edgar (Jan) Eliasen; Jenny (Ken) Megahey; Jerry (Catherine) Eliasen; Johnny Eliasen; Sue Eliasen; Zina Eliasen; Ronny (Melanie Oard) Eliasen; Sara (Mac) Richardson; sisters-in-law: Shirley (Lyle) Bardlsey; Jeannie Groothuis; Margaret Anding; brother-in-law: Larry (Judy) Anding; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Scott Anding in 1983; husband Don in 2019; siblings Elaine (Ray) Webber, Liz Eliasen, Enid (Dave) Steffen, Earl Eliasen, Ellis Eliasen, Elton Eliasen; niece Brandi Jennings; and nephews Justin C. Eliasen and Matthew C. Richardson.
