It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce the death of our mother, Eleanor Kathleen (Kathy) Myers, 85. She passed May 19, 2018, surrounded by her family at Pioneers Medical Center.

Eleanor Kathleen Kossar was born to Estella Rakestraw Kossar and John Kossar on Nov. 10, 1932. In February 1943, Kathy’s mother passed away when she was 10-years-old. After that Kathy and her brother lived with various family members in Craig, Loyd, Tow Creek, Hamilton, the Axial area and resided with her father in various places in Wyoming In 1950, while living with her aunt and uncle Rakestraw at the Loyd post office she met and later married Lewis Kenneth (Kenny) Hutton. To this union four children were born: Jackie, Stella Jo, Thomas and Timothy. In 1965, Kathy and Kenny divorced. Kathy worked as a waitress in Craig at Brown’s Café, The Midwest and the Cosgriff.

Then in 1969 Kathy married Edward (Smokey) Myers. Over the years the moved from Craig to Arkansas, back to Craig, Colo., then to Utah, back to Arkansas, and finally to Raynesford, Mont., in the spring of 1976. There they worked on a ranch and later divorced. Kathy started and ran in own business in 1979 (Kibby Korner Kafe) in Raynesford. She ran the café for nine years. Later she worked at Eddies Corner (a truck stop) out of Lewistown, Mont. Then she managed the Pop Inn in Great Falls, Mont.

Kathy retired at the age of 70. She spent summers with her daughters in Craig and Meeker. Finally moving to Meeker in 2008 to stay with her daughter Jackie, she lived there until entering the hospital where she passed away.

Kathy loved reading, playing bingo, cribbage, dominos, attending horse races, having lunch and talking to her friends in Craig, spending time with her family, especially big family dinners. She was very fond of her boyfriends Matlock and Walker Texas Ranger (TV shows).

Kathy is survived by her children Jackie (Richard) Bohrer of Meeker, Stella Jo (Michael) McGruder of Meeker, Thomas Hutton of Great Falls, Mont., Timothy Hutton of Meeker, ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, aunt Ruth Updike and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother Estella Rakestraw Kossar, father John Kossar, brother Edward Earl (Sonny) Kossar, cousin Thomas D. Rakestraw, Harold and Sarah Rakestraw, Clifford Rakestraw, Hazel and Everett Ford, Vernon Updike, Glenn Rakestraw, Velda Rakestraw, Elmer Rakestraw, Earl Rakestraw and baby Helen Rakestraw.

Private family services will be held in July.
