Eunice Maxine Cress was born May 8, 1919, in Springfield, Mo., to Robert Thompson and Martha Stone.
Eunice married in 1935 to William Luther Murphy, and he preceded her in death in 1961. During that marriage they had nine children. Eunice then married Clifford Cress in 1963.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: Dan and Tom Mcness, and Robert and Emma Thompson. She was also preceded in death by two sons and one daughter: George Murphy, Jimmy Murphy and Helen Small.
She is survived by Mary and Wayne Thelen of Rawlins, Wyo., Linda and Dan Bosick of Meeker, Colo., William Murphy of Grand Junction, Colo., Lester and Kathleen Murphy of Aztec, N.M., Dan and Donna Murphy of Denver, Colo., and Martha Hilkey of Colorado Springs, Colo. She also is survived by 34 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Eunice moved to Meeker in 1947. She remained in Meeker until she passed away at the age of 94 on July 8, 2013.
Eunice was a member of the VFW for 33 years. She will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 809 Park Ave. in Meeker. There will be a viewing starting at 9 a.m. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery.
Services will be hosted by Pastor John Laughlin and be conducted by grandson Steven Allen Murphy. Pallbearers will be grandchildren William Murphy Jr., Steve Maybury, Lester Murphy Jr., Christopher Murphy, John Murphy and Damon Baillie. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren William Bauman, Jimbo Bauman, Jerry Bauman, Danny Murphy, George Murphy Jr., and Dustin Murphy.
Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Mortuaries.
