Gordon Franklin, 73, passed away on Oct. 6, 2016, in Grand Junction, Colo., as a result of complications related to lung cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2016, at Church of Christ, 2893 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, Colo. Gordon was born in Palisade, Colo., on Aug. 13, 1943. He attended Rangely High School and later served in the Navy. He married Barbara Dembowski on Dec. 16, 1972. Gordon worked in pipeline construction and was a natural gas pipeline inspector prior to retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family. Gordon is preceded in death by his father, William Peyton Ellis Franklin and his mother, Mabel Fishback. Gordon is survived by his wife, Barbara Franklin; four children—Sandi (Kelly) Pearmain, Yvette (James) Stewart, Vanessa (Jason) Trexel, and Pete (Rebecca) Franklin; eight grandchildren—Jason Brenton, Heather Ormsbee, Kassandra Ormsbee, Trever Ormsbee, Mason Pearmain, Kaleb Trexel, Summer Franklin and Bode Franklin; two great-grandchildren.
