Jamie Anne (Owens) Bumguardner, 48, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, in Meeker, Colorado.
Jamie was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, on Sept. 25, 1975, to Jim and Nancy Owens. Jamie grew up in the Golden/Arvada area and graduated from Arvada West High School in 1994. She later continued her education at Parks College.
Jamie had two amazing children, Jillian (Jilly) Owens and Chayton Owens. She married her love, Charles Lee (CL) Bumguardner on March 20, 2009.
Jamie had a huge heart and was always willing to help! She had an open door policy, in her home, for anyone who was in need of a place to stay, and they were always welcomed with love. She was so proud of her children and all of their accomplishments in school, their activities, and the young adults they have become. Jamie will be remembered for her love of animals, her bubbling and caring personality, and giving nature, all of which will be greatly missed. She holds a very special place in the hearts of her friends and was loved dearly by her family.
Jamie is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Owens. She is survived by her husband, CL Bumguardner of Meeker, Colorado; her two children, Jilly and Chayton Owens both of Fort Collins, Colorado; her father Jim Owens of Kiowa, Colorado; her sister Michele Porter of Kiowa, Colorado; her niece and nephew, Jordan and Dillon Porter both of Greenville, South Carolina; her brother Chris Owens of Golden, Colorado; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, we are requesting donations be made to help Jamie’s children, Jilly and Chayton with counseling services and expenses at the Bank of the San Juans in Meeker.
