John ‘Jack’ Peters of Redmond, Ore., went to be with his Lord and Savior.
He died of a sudden and unexpected heart attack.
Jack was born in Rapid City, S.D.. Later the family moved to Montana. Jack spent his childhood on their ranch, riding horses and forming a deep love of animals.
His education began in a two-room school house on the Indian reservation, where he was graduated from eighth grade. The family moved to Meeker, Colo., where they ranched and took in hunters. The entire family enjoyed in taking part in the Meeker Massacre Pageant every Fourth of July. Jack was graduated from Meeker High School, then on to Mesa College, in Grand Junction, Colo., where he earned his associate in science degree in agriculture. Then bachelor of science and business degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. Jack’s professional life included ranch loan officer in Cheyenne, Wyo., Steamboat Springs, Colo., The Dalles, Ore., and Redmond, Ore.
Jack and his wife Ala’s life revolved around their German shepherd dogs, their country home and their church.
Survivors include his wife, Ala of Redmond; his mother, Joyce Peters Williams; sister, Debera Peters of Grand Junction, Colo.; brother, Randy of Rifle, Colo.; nephews, Dustin, Casey, Bradley and Austin; niece, Lindsey Peters; Ala’s daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schreiner of Bend, Ore., numerous relatives in Wyoming and Mississippi will also grieve his passing.
His father, Robert Peters and brother Bill preceded him in death several years ago.
