John Martin Kapushion, 80, of Meeker, Colorado, passed away on Oct. 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Kapushion, and his brothers, James and Robert Kapushion. He is survived by his daughter, Meredith Kapushion (John Krukoff); granddaughter, Cressa Krukoff; brother, Martin Kapushion (Liza); sister-in-law, Linda Kapushion; and many nieces and cousins.
Kapushion served two years in the U.S. Army, where he trained as a radiologist. He spent most of his career at Pioneers Hospital in Meeker, Colorado, managing the X-ray department and hospital purchasing. An avid hunter, he loved to travel the world for exotic hunts, with trips to Australia, South Africa, and northern Russia. He was also a lifelong sports fan and active in his community, often volunteering for various groups and even serving as a hospital greeter after retiring. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 889 Park St., Meeker, Colorado. A separate service and interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Meeker Lions Club in Kapushion’s name.
