Judy was born in Detroit, Michigan. She attained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of North Florida. She worked as a credit analyst and a loan officer in the Jacksonville area. She was active in the community in many ways. She was a member of the Catholic Church and active in the PTA while her children were attending school. She was an avid fisherman inshore and offshore along the coast. She was a member of the Mayport Offshore Fishing Club and the Nassau Sport Fishing Association. She enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, and running in numerous races in the Jacksonville area including the Jacksonville River Run.
She is survived by her sister Jane Ann Veen; her children Maria Buckley, Joseph Smith and Teresa Medlock; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She joins in heaven her son John Smith and daughter Barbra Smith. Her loving heart, strong will, and adventurous spirit will be greatly missed. Her funeral service will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Meeker, Colorado, on March 25, 2024, at 11 a.m.
