Kathy Darlene Soper was born the daughter of Keith and Darlene (Evenson) Soper on Oct. 17, 1959, in Meeker, Colorado. Kathy spent her childhood and attended public schools in Meeker.
Following school, Kathy married Allen Slaugh on Dec. 11, 1974, in Meeker. To this union, a son and daughter were born. After several years of marriage, the couple later divorced.
While the children were growing up, Kathy helped her grandma Evenson clean cabins at the Evenson Ranch in Meeker. Her most important role was becoming a loving mother and a devoted grandmother. In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed crocheting, sewing and learning new hobbies. Kathy was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing on a league for many years. Above all, Kathy loved spending time with her family and close friends.
Kathy is survived by her son, Allen Slaugh of Vernal, Utah; daughter, Rachel Willey and her husband Tobey of Meeker; and one sister, Kim Laing of Bend, Oregon. Kathy is further survived by six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Tayler Slaugh.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Kathy’s memory to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Meeker.
