Obituary: Kyle Clinton Richardson

Kyle Clinton Richardson, 62, of Parachute, Colo., died Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Kyle C. Richardson was born Dec. 30, 1952, in Rifle, Colo., the son of Charles Clinton and Glenda Williams Richardson.
He spent his younger years in the Rifle and New Castle area, where he attended school, then learning to work on the ranch and gaining a love of hunting and fishing.
He always had a love of the outdoors. During his sixth year in school, the family moved to Piceance Creek, where he attended Rock School until he moved to Meeker to attend high school, staying with his grandmother, Jessie Richardson.
While in high school, he played football and wrestled, placing at state his sophomore year in 1970. He also participated in the rodeo, riding rough stock. His senior year. he joined the United States Army and became a paratrooper.
While in the Army, he met Margie Jeffers and later they married. They were blessed with a set of twin girls on Dec. 23, 1973, Misty Dawn and Kristie Lynn, while stationed in Colorado Springs. A son, Kyle Jr., later joined the family on Nov. 20, 1976, in Meeker.
Kyle’s second marriage to Gayla Joelene Carstens brought them a son, Clinton Allen, on June 6, 1979, and a daughter, Heather Joelene, on March 18, 1982. During his marriage, he worked oilfields, construction, his own trucking company and ranch work. He was an avid Bronco fan. His final years were spent close to his daughter Heather, and family in Parachute. After many health issues, the Lord took him home on June 8, 2015.
Kyle is survived by: four sisters, Kenalou A. Evers of Delta, Utah, G. Wyoma Merkley of Tooele, Utah, C. Vineelia Unrein of Tooele, Utah, and Trudy N. Nielsen of Meeker; and one brother, Fain D. Richardson of Meeker; his children: Misty Richardson, Kristie Richardson, Kyle Richardson Jr., and Heather Richardson; his grandchildren: Coty, Cole, Destiny, Alonzo, Alayiah, Karleigh, Karman, Arianna, Makenzi, Callie, Ethan and Camden; and one great-grandchild, Michael.
Kyle is preceded in death by: a son, Clinton Allen Richardson,; his parents, Charles C Richardson and Glenda Williams Richardson; and a brother, Verl Randy Richardson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Meeker, Colo., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under the direction of Bishop Ken Harmon.
A plaque will be placed at the Highland Cemetery in Meeker. His ashes will be scattered at Marvine by his family at a later date.
