Lawrence McKenzie Allred, 95, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, in his sleep. He was born Sept. 30, 1919, to Albert and Helen Marie Redden Allred in Vernal, Utah.
Allred joined the Air Force and served in India for four years during World War II. He met and married his sweetheart, Paula Fowler, in 1950. He started working for Searle Electric, working most of his life in the oil field, having retired from Chevron.
Lawrence was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including in the Vernal LDS Temple. which he loved the most.
Lawrence enjoyed his family and spending time with them. His home was always open.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
He is survived by: his two sons, Lawrence Wayne Allred and Paul (Jane) Howard Allred; his two daughters, Deborah Lorraine (Leslie) Stalker and Della Christine (Mark) Humpherys; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, in the Glines LDS Stake Center (Aggie Blvd.) in Vernal.
Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park with services under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, www.blackburnvernalmortuary.com
