Lawrence Stanley Brown

Lawrence Stanley Brown, 94, of Clifton, Colo., joined his Heavenly Father on Oct. 9, 2018. He was born July 18, 1924, to Leslie and Anna Brown in Skiatook, Okla.
On April 13, 1946, he married Lorraine Marian Kuehne. She was his wife of 36 years and mother of his five children. Lorraine passed away Nov. 7, 1982. On Feb. 19, 1983, he married Flora Dean Brown. They celebrated their 35th anniversary this year.
He spent his childhood in Yale, Okla. He previously lived in Connecticut, and Paonia and Rangely, Colo. Larry served in WWII and the Korean War in the U.S. Navy submarine service. He worked as a nuclear quality control inspector and pipefitter/plumber. He was a member of the local U.S. Submarine Veterans, a 63-year member of UA Pipefitters Union, and a member of the Cherokee Nation.
He loved to collect coins to later give to grandkids and great-grandkids, played cards and computer games, was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and volunteered his time and pipefitting skills for people in need and for the people of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma.
Larry is survived by his wife, Dean; children, Steven Brown, Michael (Leslie) Brown, Kathryn (Paul) Bourgault, Cheryl Brown and Deborah Brown; stepchildren, Glenda (Alvin) Halcomb and Paula (Levy) Padilla; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery on Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.
