Obituary: Linda Holeyfield

March 17, 1946 ~ Sept. 30, 2022

On Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, Linda Holeyfield, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 76.

Linda was born on March 17, 1946, in Washington, D.C., to Herman and Martha Gatling. Linda was a flight attendant for Pan American. She was a secretary for a law firm in Meeker. She also enjoyed her membership in the Meeker P.E.O. Sisterhood.

On March 20, 1982, Linda married Joe Holeyfield. Together they shared and loved three sons:  Mike, Mitch and Colby.

As a mother, Linda enjoyed helping Colby with his Ag projects. She also found joy in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Linda loved her church family and was involved in women’s ministries. 

Supporting her husband, Linda also helped organize events for WREA (White River Electric Association). She also founded Compassionate Friends in Meeker.

Linda had an eye for bringing beauty to things inside and outside her home. Her collection of pigs, roosters and show-stopping flowers were near and dear to her heart. Linda’s sense of humor enabled her to appreciate the ordinary, the heartaches, and the blessings of all life had to offer.

Linda was preceded in death by her son, Colby. She is survived by her husband Joe, sons Mike and his wife Teresa, Mitch and his wife Corrie, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 at Meeker Methodist Church on 809 Park Ave. at 10 a.m.
