March 27, 1951 ~ Feb. 14, 2022
Linda Kay Bishop was born March 27, 1951, to Pat and Ida Mae Corder in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She bravely faced the debilitations of lung cancer and completed her earthly journey on Feb. 14, 2022. Her husband Rick, of 52-½ years, was by her side.
Linda graduated in 1969 from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In May of 1969, she married Rick Bishop, also from Colorado Springs. They moved to Meeker in 1976, with their two children Trichia and RickO. Linda had a cleaning service for many years, while Rick ran a local drywall business, then worked for Northern Coal and Deserado mines.
Linda and Rick were a good team and made a priority of providing the simple necessities for their family. She always worked hard and took great pride in keeping her home in good order.
Linda loved the outdoors … enjoying the high country and all it had to offer. Her summers were filled with gardening, camping, riding her dirt bike and four-wheeler. Fall brought canning, more camping, hunting and cutting wood. Winters were always welcomed with snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing adventures.
Her quiet time was spent in her craft room. Gifted with an eye for shading and coloring, Linda was known for her hand-crafted note cards and was quite handy with needle crafts as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Trichia (Bishop) Walker.
She is survived by her husband Rick, son RickO (Lalaena), sister Donna Ledford, brother Terry Corder, son-in-law Dean Walker, sister-in-law Frieda Brozeck, and four grandchildren: JOsh, Joshlynn, Melissa and Nathan.
Services are Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Meeker United Methodist Church at 809 Park Ave. in Meeker, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent in Linda’s name to our local hospice organization: HopeWest Meeker, 575 3rd St., Meeker, Colorado, 81641.
