Maria N. Blakley, 18, of Dinosaur, Colo., gained her angel wings on June 29, 2018. She was a graduate of Rangely High School Class of 2018, and was preparing to attend Colorado Mesa University on a full-ride scholarship. She was part of soccer, volleyball and cheer teams throughout high school and she enjoyed every minute of it. She was very active in her community and attended Dinosaur Baptist Church as a baptized Christian. She had many talents including drawing, writing poems, taking photos, shooting and hunting. She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, baby sister, aunt and niece. She enjoyed hunting, camping, shooting, photographing wildlife and sunsets, playing sports and just hanging with her family. Her smile could lightly up the darkest room and she was also an advocate for bullying and protected everyone she could. She is survived by her grandparents Virginia Bunigar, Albert Gustafsan, her parents Richard and Valerie Blakley, siblings Hondo Blakley, (Uslie Blakley), Tabitha Cutright, Chara Garcia, (Michael Garcia), Darcie Rocque Richards Blakley (Cody Blakley), Lando Blakley (Hannah Blakley), Austin Blakley, five nephews and five nieces, many cousins, aunts and uncles. She was loved dearly and will never be forgotten, always a light in our hearts.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Rangely High School. A visitation was held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Friday 12-1:45 p.m. at Rangely High School.
