Mark Douglas Barlow, 57, husband of Doretta Barlow, of Rangely, Colorado, formerly of Vernal, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Oct. 1, 2020. Mark was born Sept. 22, 1963, to Carla and Ronald Barlow in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
Mark married Doretta Burchett on June 19, 1987, in San Patricio, New Mexico. Mark enjoyed being a firefighter, and spending time with his family and wife in the outdoors, camping, canoeing and fishing. He loved going up into the Uintah’s and the mountains above Meeker. He was dedicated to following and encouraging his children’s various endeavors. Many a mile was spent in the vehicle traveling to numerous towns to support all kinds of middle and high school sporting events. He was also a huge Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching NASCAR.
Mark was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rangely, Colorado. Mark didn’t know a stranger; he could talk to anyone and wanted to help out and serve his community where he could.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doretta. Children, Jennifer (John) Cottrill, Cole (Hannah) Barlow, and Ryan Barlow. His dad, Ronald Barlow, siblings, Debbie Barlow, Wayne (Marsha) Barlow, Chris (Andrea) Barlow, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carla Barlow, his grandparents, Kelly and Lillian Barlow from Humboldt, Kansas, Frank and Mary Bertagnolli from Kemmerer, Wyoming, a niece Chelsea and a brother-in-law Joe Burchett.
Memorial service for Mark will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West, Vernal, Utah). Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com.
