Matthew Allen Grenfell of Rangely, Colorado, passed away on Feb. 28, 2022, at his home. He was born on Aug. 13, 1952, in Golden, Colorado, to Richard and Ila Grace Reber Grenfell.
Matt was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and Broncos fan. He loved all sports. He provided many services to the community, supporting youth and high school sporting programs. He refereed baseball and basketball games and coached many youth teams over the years. He worked for Parks and Recreation and Rangely Cemetery and supported the Rio Blanco County 4-H programs. He also donated countless hours of time and labor to the Field of Dreams in his community.
Matt served on many boards: Rio Blanco Credit Union, the Fire District, Columbine Park Board and the Rangely Cemetery Board.
He will be greatly missed by his family and community that loved him.
There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 12-2 p.m. at the Gathering Place (616 East Main St.) in Rangely, Colorado.
Services are in the care of Blackburn Rangely Mortuary.
