He served on four different ships, one of which was the USS G Pennon stationed off the coast of Korea during the conflict.

It was called The Houston Hollis Show. Norm was the announcer and talked about the furniture being featured at the show. They would invite women as guests to try out the furniture as “Queen for a day,” He got to meet Jerry Van Dyke during this time.

In November of 1963 Norm and family moved to Rangely, Colorado. He sold used furniture and worked for a furniture store here in town. He was asked to run the furniture store in Meeker so we moved to Meeker for about a year then back to Rangely. Dad opened a used furniture store, worked on small engines and sold snowmobiles; Scorpions, Ski. Doo’s.

Norm went to work at Moon Lake Electric Plant and was there until they shut down.

Norm and Mary were involved with the CB Club where they would also talk to truckers through the nights and invite them in for coffee to help keep them awake.
