It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Perry Earl McGruder. Perry passed away on May 8, 2024, at the hospital in Temple, Texas, surrounded by his devoted family.
Perry was born Aug. 23, 1949, to Perry and Naomi (Webb) McGruder.
In his life Perry found immense joy in time spent with his family. Despite working numerous years as a school custodian in Craig, Colorado, his true happiness was time spent with those he held dear.
Perry is preceded in death by his parents Perry and Naomi McGruder, his loving wife Lilac, daughter Michelle McGruder, sister Linda Allen, brother Dale McGruder, brother-in-law Gary Allen.
Perry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his son Roy and daughter-in-law Gina Schumacher of Temple, Texas; daughter Ruth Watson of New Hampshire; sister Sandy (Bert) Austin of New Mexico; Mary McGruder of Glenwood Springs; brother Michael (Stella) McGruder of Meeker; numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will always carry his spirit with them. There will be a Celebration of Life later this year.
