Scott R. Mackay
Sept. 23, 1977 ~ Aug. 23, 2020
On Aug. 23, 2020 Scott R Mackay said goodbye to this world after a battle with pneumonia and moved onto his next journey with our loving God.
Born on Sept. 23, 1977 in Rangely, he lived, went to school, and worked here his entire life.
In school he treasured his friends and played in all the sports, but football was the one that put a sparkle in his eyes. He always talked of junior high and how they went undefeated all three years.
In gigh school he joined the travel group and went to England and Scotland. SInce he is of Scottish descent he found a sense of pride being able to go and see for himself the land his great grandfathers came from.
He had a love of adventure and enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, skateboarding, snowboarding, and golfing. Playing Madden with a friend, giving a helping hand, friendly smile and a daily walk just to get out and about. Many would stop to ask if he would like or need a ride and he would smile and say, “No thank you, I enjoy walking.”
He worked odd jobs here and there but found a job with NT Coating where he enjoyed the job and the people.
He leaves behind his grandmother Carlene Gardner, parents Janet and Bryan mackay, sisters Calista Mackay and Cheyenne Steel–Mackay, brother Byron Steele–Mackay, niece Braydin, nephews John, Kaylen, Ben, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We will miss your laugh, your smile, and your wild stories. You will always be in our heart.
The family will be holding a memorial at the Rangely Cemetery Sept. 25, 2020 at 11 a.m.
We would like to thank this loving community for many prayers, cards, and acts of kindness.
