Steven was born in Meeker, Colorado, in 1978, to Ella Darlene Kinnamon and Larry Rhea Kinnamon. He was the last son of three boys; Arthur Kinnamon and Eugene (Gene) Kinnamon. Steven spent his childhood ranching with his family and attended school in Meeker. He went on to attend Westwood College in Denver where he earned an associates degree in mechanics.
