Thank you Meeker! Local Samaritan’s Purse representative Stella McGruder (right) and helper Karen LaBonte (left), are delighted to announce the culmination of the 2019 Operation Christmas Child campaign in Meeker with the sending of 313 shoebox gifts. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization whose mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the good news of Jesus Christ. We ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. On behalf of the many children around the world who will receive these expressions of love from our town, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who had a part in this year’s very successful effort.
