MEEKER | A quick Google search on the qualities of good fabric yields the following description: a high-quality fabric should have a smooth, luxurious feel that’s pleasant to touch. Additionally, one should pay attention to the fabric’s weight as it can indicate its durability and performance. A heavier fabric often suggests better quality, as it’s typically more dense and less prone to tearing or wearing out quickly.
The Outstanding Service to 4-H Award is a special award recognizing those who are part of our fabric. Often, those who make the biggest impact on local programs are the people and entities working behind the scenes to provide resources and support. We want to remain vigilant and thoughtful about not taking them for granted. Without these entities as part of our fabric, we would become tattered and unwoven. There are so many of you out there and we thank you for your generous support and contribution to the RBC 4-H Program.
This year, Rio Blanco County 4-H recognizes a business and a club with a unique union, collaborating annually to fund the 4-H Indoor Completion Awards. This year Rio Blanco County 4-H presented the Outstanding Service to 4-H Award to the Meeker Lions Club and White River Electric Association for their continued support year after year. Their unwavering and reliable support keeps our fabric strong. In addition to the 4-H Indoor Completion cash awards being given tonight, these companies faithfully sponsor things such as fundraising opportunities for 4-H clubs, share their equipment and supplies with 4-H clubs at no cost, serve free meals to 4-H families and the community, and sponsor Colorado State Fair or NWSS tickets for 4-H families.
We recognize that they not only support 4-H but our community as a whole. This is a lot of work, and they take this responsibility seriously. If you encounter these individuals, please take a moment to thank them for their contributions to our 4-H Program and our community.
