Martin Benefit Dinner…

Lynn Carroll helped to serve food during last week’s benefit dinner for the Martin family. Vicki Cross and her husband, Phil, who are general managers of the Meeker Hotel and Cafe, organized the fundraising event. Vicki Cross said the community’s support for the benefit dinner “exceeded our expectations.”

Loose Ends: Small comforts

It is so odd what small things can give us comfort. I admit I felt so much more than sadness when 9-year-old Stone Martin passed way too early in life — I felt helplessness. My emotional barometer sinks far below zero in the face of such unexplainable loss.
