Bishop sentenced for illegal outfitting
RIFLE — Mike Bishop, of Rifle, was sentenced in federal court on Aug. 5, after pleading guilty to an October 2006 offense of outfitting without the required BLM special recreation permit, a Class A misdemeanor.
New students attend CNCC-Rangely classes
RANGELY — The official opening of the CNCC fall semester began Thursday and Friday of last week with the welcoming of all new students to the CNCC-Rangely campus. As students began to check in Thursday afternoon, the Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) events were in full swing.

Lady Panthers play under new coach
RANGELY — The Rangely High School volleyball team will open the season with a new head coach. Jimmie Mergelman, who has coached the girls basketball team the past two years, has replaced long-time coach Dave Walck, who is now the assistant principal and activities director for Grand Valley.
