Septemberfest art awards go to seven artists
RANGELY — Rangely Arts Council’s second annual “Art in the Park” art show at Septemberfest featured the work of 19 artists. The participating artists showed their work, which included paintings, pastels, photographs, stained glass, carved antlers, and even a woven piece. RANGELY — Special team turnovers proved to be the undoing of the Panthers during the weekend. The Altamont Longhorns took advantage of a poor snap and a blocked punt to defeat the Panthers 25-12.

MEEKER — Members of Meeker High School’s golf team opened the season in Rifle last Tuesday and then played better in Delta last week.
Meeker goes 1-3 in Glenwood Springs tourney; hosts Moffat
MEEKER — “We hung in there,” Meeker High School volleyball coach Christy Atwood said of her team’s play in the season opening tournament in Glenwood Springs. Meeker lost three matches to larger schools but did beat the other 2A school they played.
