In a thrilling matchup on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, RHS varsity football team delivered a commanding performance, securing a resounding victory over Soroco High School with a final score of 68-26.
Kobey Chism displayed his quarterback prowess, completing three of seven passes for a total of 136 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Gage Fielder led the charge with an impressive 172 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Robert Murray added 78 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Chase Cochrane made his mark with two touchdowns on 31 yards of rushing.
In the receiving department, Tristan Scott stood out with 89 receiving yards, scoring two touchdowns, while Landon Williams contributed with 47 yards.
The Panthers’ defense was equally formidable, with Izaiah Moody, Robert Murray, Jazon Torsell, and Wyatt Stevens each recording three solo tackles. Torsell had a standout performance with a total of 11 tackles, five of which were for a loss. Additionally, Izaiah Moody and Davin Hinkle both had interceptions during the game.
With this victory, the Panthers now boast a season record of 5-3 overall and an impressive 3-1 in league play. Their next challenge awaits as they face Vail Christian on Friday at 7 p.m.
