The Rangely Panther high school football team is excited to take the field this fall and looking forward to the upcoming season. After finishing last year’s season ranked 17th, the Panthers missed the playoffs by just one spot. With that bitter taste still in their mouths, seniors Corbin Lucero, Kasen Lebleu, Marstan Wagner, and Wyatt Wiley look to lead their team back into the postseason.
“This year’s team is working hard to make sure that we compete. We know we need to build a culture where we are striving to get better every day,” said head coach Ryan Wilkie. “We feel like we have the talent, so for us it’s about executing and being good at the little things.”
To reach their goal and compete in the playoffs, the Panthers will have to start their season off faster than what they did last year. The boys will get their first opportunity to do so this Friday, Aug. 26 when they host Caliche at 7 p.m.
