Panthers best Manila

RANGELY I Rangely’s lady Panthers opened up at the Manila Holiday Tournament against Manila. The team came out strong and finished strong winning with a score of 46-21. All 15 girls went through and found some nice rotations. Miah Wren led in scoring with 13, followed by Dembowski with eight, Mergelman with seven, Scoggins and Cantrell with six each, and Ducey and Halcomb with four apiece. 

The Panthers followed up by playing Green River, Wyoming, winning that game with a score of 48-34. Mergelman led with 15, followed by Wren with nine, Scoggins with eight, Cantrell with six, Ducey with four and Dembowski, Cox and Halcomb each chipping in two. 

Saturday was a great game for Rangely, despite losing 54-43. 

“We had a lot of opportunities down the stretch, we just couldn’t find the basket,” said head coach Jimmie Mergelman. Scoggins led with 14, followed by Mergelman with 11, Wren five, Ducey four, Dembowski three, and Cantrell, Cox and Chism adding in two each. 

“Overall the weekend went well and we are looking forward to the season, and our home tournament this weekend,” Mergelman added.
