RANGELY | In a hard-fought away game, the Rangely Panthers faced off against the West Grand Mustangs, ultimately falling 6-36. Despite the score, the Panthers displayed strong defensive stops early on, notably with Izaiah Moody’s crucial interception. Leading the defensive charge was Kobey Chism with an impressive 13 tackles, accompanied by Clay Allred and Jaxon Torsell, each contributing 11 tackles.
On the offensive side, the Panthers faced challenges sustaining drives due to penalties, highlighting the need for discipline and error correction. Gage Fielder led with 66 rushing yards, while Kobey Chism scored the sole touchdown of the day with 52 rushing yards.
The Panthers are now preparing to host the Plateau Valley Cowboys on Friday, Oct. 13, aiming to bounce back and secure a victory.
