On Jan. 11, the Rangely Panthers played a tough game against the Plateau Valley Cowboys from Collbran, Colorado. The Cowboys, known for their strong performance and ranked third in 2A, displayed excellent skills and strategy.
Plateau Valley started the game with aggressive defense and used their height for an advantage, leading to a 19-5 score at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers picked up their pace in the second quarter, scoring 15 points including three 3-pointers, but were still behind 39-20 at halftime.
Throughout the second half, the Panthers faced challenges with the Cowboys’ defense and had too many turnovers. The final score was 82-33 in favor of Plateau Valley, with Clay Allred scoring 11 points for the Panthers.
The Panthers are looking forward to their next games, with two home games on Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. against Caprock Academy and Little Snake River, and an away game at North Park High School on Saturday, Jan. 20.
