Former Meeker resident and wrestler Cody Pfau (wearing the red shirt) won the cadet women’s free style national title last weekend in Fargo, N.D. Pfau qualified for the state wrestling tournament as a freshman for the Meeker Cowboys and was the second girl to ever win a match in the Colorado State wrestling tournament. Pfau dominated her weight class in the toughest national free style tournament in the country, referred to as simply “Fargo” in the wrestling world, by not allowing any opponent to score a point on her. Pfau pinned wrestlers from Washington, California and Michigan and beat Jasmine Bailey of Iowa by decision (5-0, 2-0) in the semifinals, before defeating Julia Long of Wyoming 7-0, 6-0 in the championship match.
Cody Pfau is a CADET WOMANS FS NATIONAL CHAMPION.Cody not only won, she dominated all of her competition. Cody wrestled in the Cadet division which is her age group, and tonight she’s wrestling in the older age division as well in the Junior division championships.Cody has also been invited to compete with the Women’s team Internationally in a few weeks at the 108lb weight class … good luck Cody and way to represent Colorado!
