BLM to remove approximately 1,000 horses from Piceance, West Douglas HMAs

RBC | The Bureau of Land Management is preparing for a gathering of wild horses in the Piceance-East Douglas Herd Management Area in August as part of a plan to reduce herd numbers.
Located near Meeker and Rangely in northwest Colorado, Piceance-East Douglas is the largest herd management area in the state at just over 190,000 acres.
