PRESS RELEASE
MEEKER | Pioneers Medical Center (PMC) will switch to a new patient billing system in May 2026. Hospital officials say the change is meant to make billing easier for patients to understand and manage.
The update will include a new online billing portal where patients can view statements, check balances and make payments.
To move accounts from the current system to the new one, the hospital will pause billing for about one month during the transition. Patients will not receive billing statements during that time.
Patients who are currently on payment plans will not lose those arrangements. Existing plans will be rebuilt and transferred into the new system so they can continue without interruption.
“The improved billing statements and new online billing portal are the result of PMC listening to community feedback. These changes are the result of a long process and I want to personally thank the community for your patience and to the Revenue Cycle team at PMC for their hard work,” said Steve Hannah, interim CEO at PMC.
Hospital staff will be available to answer questions and help patients during the transition. Patients with questions about their accounts or the upcoming changes are encouraged to contact the hospital at 970-878-5047.
Hospital officials also recognize that some patients may have questions about current statements. Medical billing can be complex, and several factors can affect when charges appear on an account.
“This is an exciting change for PMC billing. Medical billing is extremely complex and confusing; our goal with these changes is to simplify patient billing. We want to make it easy and intuitive for our patients,” said PMC Revenue Cycle Director Taylor Thrailkill, adding, “We are well aware that there have been things that fell through the cracks with our old process, and we expect these issues to come to light with the changes. The intent is to streamline and clean these accounts during the transition and not to surprise any community member with a medical bill that they didn’t know about. PMC’s patient financial services staff are here to help.”
More information about the new billing portal and the system change will be shared as the May launch approaches.
