MEEKER | Trina Zagar-Brown, on behalf of the Pioneers Health Care Foundation, presented a $58,000 check to Pioneers Medical Center (PMC) during its monthly board meeting held May 28. Board President Kim Brown presided over the meeting.
This is just one of many grants that have been presented to PMC in the recent past.
There was discussion regarding the vacant former hospital site. Realtor Suzan Pelloni presented information about the disposition of this real estate, specifically that there was not much activity on a potential sale at this time. The entire block is currently listed at $216,000 and is currently platted into 12 small lots. It was discussed that the lots were possibly too small. The PMC board is looking to sell the entire block, however, it was discussed that it could possibly be re-platted into four equal-sized lots to make the purchase more attractive, or re-platted by a potential buyer.
On other business, the annual audit was presented by Kammi Matzek of Dingus, Zarecore, and Associates, followed by Dr. Turner presenting the medical staff report. The proposed orthopedic wing of PMC is currently in the design phase however, financing will be available by Aug. 1 allowing the project to move forward.
