RBC I The public is invited to enjoy a Sunday afternoon with Rio Blanco County’s pioneer women, who will offer their takes on local history.
The Rio Blanco County Historical Society is having its quarterly meeting on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. The business portion of the meeting will be very brief followed by a presentation by community members, featuring 10 pioneer women from this area. Their stories will be narrated and the women will wear costumes representative of their characters.
The stories will be told by some family members of the original pioneers, and time will be allowed for sharing memories of the “pioneer women.”
There is tremendous history in our area and the women of the early days have fascinating stories to tell. From the women who worked around the clock caring for their children and keeping the family going, to the characters who spent a great deal of time socializing or playing cards, to the women who went out and helped on the farm and ranch, each individual is just that, unique.
The public is invited to join the Rio Blanco Historical Society for a fun afternoon of learning, laughing and lunching.
The main course for the potluck dinner will be provided, inviting guests to simply bring a salad or dessert.
