MEEKER | This month the Meeker Elementary School Library received a puppet theater along with many puppets in memory of Jeanne Moritz. Jeanne was a first-grade teacher with the Meeker School District in 1974 and Meeker Elementary was her first teaching position.

Teacher Mrs. Becky Hughes remembers Jeanne and also her puppet “Duso the Dolphin.”  Duso was a favorite addition to the first graders and Mrs. Moritz’s curriculum.

Jeanne loved her many years of teaching and finished her teaching career in Winnemucca, Nevada. Jeanne was very fond of Meeker and the wonderful group of educators she had the pleasure of working with.

Jeanne is dearly missed but has touched many lives of friends, family and students with her endless love, positive attitude and incredible work ethic that we all admired.
