RANGELY | The Rangely 4-H Community Council has been busy in the last three months. The council was in charge of organizing the fireworks booth again this year and happily had a great turnout from the community buying fireworks. In August, the council set up the concession stand at the Rio Blanco County Fair and they would like to thank all the hard work of the 4-H clubs, Meeker DI, and the Rangely Spirit Committee members. Also, thanks to all of our fireworks buyers and concession stand supporters.
In September, the council members cleaned the first mile of Highway 139 and enjoyed pizza at the park afterward. The members also nominated officers to be elected at the October meeting. On Oct. 1, 4-Hers painted gourds to be used for fall decorations with the residents at the Eagle Crest Assisted Living Facility in Rangely and a good time was had by all who attended. The next meeting has been rescheduled to accommodate members involved with homecoming activities. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. All Rangely 4-Hers are members of the Rangely 4-H Community Council and they are encouraged to attend council meetings. This upcoming meeting is extremely important because we will be electing the officer team for 2011. The Rangely Achievement Night is also around the corner and all 4-H families are invited to attend Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. in the Colorado Room at CNCC. The theme of this year’s Achievement Night is “Hollywood.” Hope to see you all there for the October council meeting and Achievement Night.
